Jane Hudson: Outer Space

Artist Reception: Jane Hudson — April 6, 2018 5 PM

Jane Hudson’s recent paintings leap out into space to tackle its wild and explosive forms and energies. Although the images make reference to actual phenomena, the movement of color and form becomes abstracted. The gesture of the artist and the flow of paint hover as subject beyond any representation.

These are emotional paintings, made of the times, both personal and historic. The journey to space where there is silence, allows for explosive expressions. The media are acrylic on canvas and gouache on Arches paper.

JANE HUDSON Born in New York City of artist parents, Jane Hudson has pursued the life of an artist through rock music, video art, photography and painting as well as teaching artists for many years at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Jane received an NEA for her work in Video, and showed large abstract paintings in Boston at the Atlantic Gallery, Nielsen Gallery and Segal Gallery in Boston. She is also a composer and musical performer.
