1952, Rated G, 1 hour 43 minutes
The best musical ever made, and one of the best films ever
made, Singin' in the Rain looks at Hollywood during
its transition from silent films to talkies. Don Lockwood
and Lina Lamont are the top acting team to the time, but the
advent of talking pictures threatens their popularity because
of Lina's strident voice. Meanwhile Don has fallen in love
with Kathy Selden, a struggling actress with a beautiful voice.
Starring and co-directed (with Stanley Donen) by Gene Kelly,
the film also stars Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds, Jean
Hagen and Cyd Charisse.
