Unimaginable terrors befall the Gardner family after a meteorite lands on their front lawn in Richard Stanley's entrancing, horrific adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's short story.

Nicolas Cage stars as Nathan Gardner, a man leading a quiet life with his wife and kids out in the country. All that changes when a meteorite crashes in the front yard of their farm. Glowing angrily at first, the meteorite acts as a lightening rod during a thunderstorm the next day, and then it disappears altogether. That's when things get weird.

The combination of Lovecraft, Stanley and Cage is a match made in cult film heaven; all three are all-star Hall of Famers in their own right. Stanley hews pretty closely to the essential elements of Lovecraft's story, while simultaneously modernizing and putting his own distinct twists on it. The film is beautifully shot and spectacularly complemented by the special effects for a truly otherworldly and unsettling experience. Color Out of Space is enthralling: a strange, psychedelic canvas of grotesque terrors and alien enigmas sure to put a smile on any genre fan's face.

Wednesday's special screening will feature exclusive additional content after the credits, so stick around.
