Science on Screen®: Nocturnes
Artist, educator, and citizen scientist Lauren Levato Coyne joins us for NOCTURNES. Starting at 6pm in the Lounge, Lauren will be providing experiential activities to explore the intersection of art and science, getting up close and personal with moth specimens. At 7pm we will move to the Main Theater for a talk about moths and their significance as pollinators, as well as how gridded night counts work and how you could try one for yourself. This screening continues our annual celebration of Women in STEM for Women's History Month and National Science on Screen© Day, and also is the launch film for Earth Month Film Festival 2025.
Film Synopsis:
In the dense forests of the Eastern Himalayas, moths are whispering something to us. In the dark of night, two curious observers shine a light on this secret universe.
The Earth Month Film Festival is sponsored by Science on Screen®, Berkshire Environmental Consultants, the Williams College Zilkha Center, the Williams College Center for Environmental Studies, and Provisions Williamstown.DocumentaryPT2H2025-03-25Ramana Athreya
